Fractional crop edges describe ideal geometry. An image editor may round them to whole pixels. This calculator does not inspect, crop, enlarge or resample your image.
PIXELS, NOT PRINTER DOTS
A useful check.
A target you control.
PPI relates image pixels to physical inches. A printer’s DPI setting describes its output dots and is a separate measure. An image can meet your chosen PPI and still look soft because of focus, compression, noise or heavy editing.
For a 6000 × 4000 image printed at 8 × 10 inches, a centred fill uses a 3200 × 4000 pixel window at 400 PPI. Fit keeps the full image at 750 PPI, occupying 8 × 5⅓ inches with top and bottom borders.
